typography used in captain capitalism

"Typography plays a dual role as both verbal and visual communication," (TYPOGRAPHY). Captain Capitalism employs the use of Rockwell and Stencil fonts, sans serif and serif respectively. The fonts are bold and have masculine traits symbolizing strength. The 'a' has been mainuplated in the rockwell font, and the 'm' manipuleated in the stencil font, showing the webpages quest for creativity, even with already existing objects. In the website title, the 'c' being replaced with a coin and the 's' replaced with a dollar sign, reinforces the theme. The letters are also in red, white and blue. It gives the text another dimension; it becomes a character instead of just letters. According to Curtis, "Your (the designer's) primary goal should always be to make the text as easy to read as possible" (155). An issue of legibility rest is the links. The font (similar in style to a comic book) within the American flags, which serve as links to pages within the sight, are squashed together, which can make it difficult for some users to read. Also, when some links are highlighted the text cannot be seen because it is covered by graphic images.
