Theme of CaptainCapitalism.com
Humor, action and creativity are key themes underlying the Captain Capitalism web site. I use Curtis's three-ring target to pin point the main themes of the website (43). Captain Capitalism is a satire on America capitalism. It invites the user to take a different approach to the same old topics, i.e. the cold war, and to investigate and question and finally to use this information to create. The site hopes to spark creativity within each user by using vivid colors, imagination and humor.
The user controls the action by determining which pages to visit, whether it is sketchbook, store or video. By taking action and deciding which link to visit and in which order, the user is in control of the sites creativity for that particular user. The site is what the user wants it to be. Whether it is a forum to commiserate with other creators in the "house on American activities" forum or just a place to read a blog on the daily happenings of Brad, the site creator, the site is open. If the user chooses those two links, new browser windows open, leaving the user able to shift back and forth between the sites.
