Typography/Editorial Style

The font used throughout the site is sans-serif which implies simplicity. The site uses very little text. Using a very discreet heading and brief navigational menu, makes it easy for visitors to navigate freely.  The Web Style Guide states, “One of the most effective and subtle ways to vary the visual contrast and relative importance of a piece of text is to isolate it or treat it differently from the surrounding text” (Typography, Emphasis). The Daisy Marc Jacobs site isolates its heading and menu by keeping it at the top of the screen throughout the site. The font is small in size. The small emphasis of the text keeps visitors clicking on graphics and exploring what the site is capable of.
