Web Site Analysis

The website I most often use is Facebook. This is an entertainment site with a web style organization. Facebook's web organization allows members to move freely from one member's home page or from one web application to another. The designers have recently changed its organization to a more complex web in an effort to control entertainment applications that members can add to his or her page. This redesign could be described as chunking information for easier use. One unique aspect of Facebook is that the site depends on the users to not only supply the compelling graphics but to supply "site supplied motivation" to keep users interested and actively moving through the site's web of pages. This is done with a "news feed". A member's home page is a feed of photographs and information about his or her friends and family. How the member will experience the site on a given visit is largely determined by what other members have been writing or uploading.
