Page Design of TheStoryofStuff.com
An appropriate balance between organized text and visual contrast is essential in maintaining the user's interest. According to the Web Style Guide, repetition gives sites a consistent graphic identity that creates and then reinforces a distinct sense of "place" and makes sites memorable. The Story of Stuff site establishes a consistent layout grid throughout the site.
The headers across the top of the page use the concept of proximity: they are grouped together in a bar that rests immediately above the cinematic screen for the movie. On The Story of Stuff site, there are seven chapters, ranging from the "Introduction" to the chapter entitled "Another Way."

When clicking on each chapter, there are several options available to the viewer: play the chapter, view detailed information on the concept that is introduced in the chapter, or exit the chapter.

In addition, each page of the site uses animated cartoon-style graphics, which are entertaining for a range of audiences and which maintain the site's theme of "minimalism."
