My CMS 3710 home page

CMS 3710 class home page

As a student in Dr. Spence's CMS 3710 class, I was required to analyze one Web site from the nominations for the past three years of the South by Southwest festival. After looking through the available categories, I decided to find a fantastic portfolio site that I could use as a model when creating my own online portfolio. I looked at all the personal portfolio Web sites in order to find one to meet my needs. The Web site I chose would showcase its work well and be interesting to look at. Thus, I chose the 2006 nominee and winner of the Personal Portfolio category: David Josué Photography. David Josué, a photographer from Mexico, captures visual works in the form of still images and video. His web site davidjosue.com includes one page dedicated to showcasing his skills in still photography and one page dedicated to his blog. My analysis applies to the portfolio page, which is set up with ten links to the left of the page. Seven are links to his photo galleries, titled "Pregnancy," "Fashion," "Retouch," etc. There is also a link to his biography, a link to his clients, and a link to his contact page. Using the Web Style Guide by Horton and Lynch, Making the Invisible Visible by Hillman Curtis, and The Language of New Media by Lev Manovich, seven areas of web designs that davidjosue.com excels in include:
