Curtis explains that as a communicator it is best to "internalize the audience considering them in every part of the speech process, from concept to delivery" (75). This concept of "eating the audience" concerns speeches, but it also applies to any communication medium including web design (75). It is important to remember the people who will be using the Web site most often and make the site accessible to that audience. Davidjosue.com was built for a specific audience: people who may want to hire David Josué as their photographer. Thus, this Web site includes many photo galleries that show off the different photographic styles of Josué including portraits, pregnancy, and fashion. Knowing this site will be used by possible employers, Josué includes a biography, client list, and contact information. He also showcases his ability to retouch photos in one section which includes two bars that show the original image and the retouched image. Below (figure 5) is an example of the slide bar at work: the left side is retouched, while the right side is the original photo. For an example of the opacity bar, see the previous page on Variability.

The Web Style Guide states, "Some general modes of Web use are more structured and depend on audiences who arrive knowing what they wish to accomplish without the need for site-supplied motivation" (Site design themes.) The audience of davidjosue.com arrives at the site knowing that he/she will be looking at examples of photography. This audience should have the capability on their computers to look at photographs, especially detailed photographs. Thus, the audience should have little or no problem downloading the graphics on the page. Since the user will probably spend a great deal of time on this site looking through the many pictures, it is appropriate that Josué did not include many hyperlinks to other sites. It is also appropriate that he uses a Macromedia Flash Player that downloads immediately and quickly changes from one graphic to another.
