Debra Brown's Project 2 Site Design

Worldwithoutoil.org site design is perfectly functional and meets the use of its Internet users. Its architectural design is unique and is not harsh. The importance of Site Design on any Web site cannot be overstated. WWO.Org web site reflects a tasteful design (Site Design). The Web pages appearance earns its merits, drawing its audience from all walks of life which makes it a popular site and a nominee for the SXSW award.

Elements

The elements of the site are impressive and not burdensome, but are easy for reading and viewing. The sites paintings, drawings, and designs, are in concise order with theme of the site. In the Web Style Guide by Horton and Lynch it says, "complex sites with multiple topic areas it is not practical to burden the home page with dozens of links-the page grows too long to load in a timely manner, and its sheer complexity may be off-putting to many users"(Site Elements). WWO.Org elements are practical and coerce its users to remain steady as they seek out information, play the game, and learn about one of the world's main resources. The sites elements of value, colors, size, shape, and direction, helps to make wwo.org an interesting and fun site.

Structure

I was impressed with wwo.org specific channels and Web pages lay out. They are well structured. Hillman Curtis talks about how Web sites grows quickly having its underlying structure and HTML readily available, the stucture is then relatively easy to understand. When creating a site, it is the designers' job is to rid the questions marks (187). The site structure is well organized and placed in logical order whereas any one can access the site easily and conveniently.
