Web site Analysis
Worldwithoutoil.org functions as a virtual reality game. The Web site main focal point is to inform and educate people of all ages who are curious about what could occur during an oil shortage. The site is more than just a game, it contains numerous resources with material for pedagogy and a complete outline for study purposes. The site is a natural candidate for the People Choice Awards out of five top finalists. A proud nominee of the 2008 South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) Interactive Competitive Award in the Activism category, and other nominations include; the 2007 Academy Awards for Best Game Nominee Webby Award as well as the 2008 Stockholm Challenge Special Mention Best Technology-Environment Awards.
In my analysis I will pay particular attention to site design, interface design, design themes, and graphics, asserting views from criteria based on multimedia systems data found in our class text, 'Making the Invisible Visible' from the works of Hillman Curtis, and the Web Style Guide 2nd edition by Patrick J. Lynch and Sarah Horton.
